Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Description:
North Pole Engineering is seeking a talented, motivated Principal Electrical Engineer. This position requires a candidate with strong communication skills, the ability to analyze and document customer requirements. As a lead member of NPE's technical team, you will work directly with customers to help define product requirements, define architecture, perform detailed design work and lead other technical team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management including monitoring schedule and budget, client communication and leading the engineering team to assure successful project completion.
  • Perform detailed design of microprocessor based platforms and related analog/digital circuits.
  • Conduct design analysis on designs ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, reliability and meeting customer requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including architecture, detail design, operation and verification test documents.
  • Lead design team, monitor schedule and budgetary guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members, including instructing and verifying their work.

Job Requirements:

  • BSEE with a minimum of 10 years' experience in digital design.
  • Minimum 3 years as a team leader.
  • Solid understanding of design processes.
  • Experience with the Altium toolset - schematic capture, BOM and/or PCB layout.

This position requires the candidate to work in our Minneapolis MN office.


 

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description:
North Pole Engineering is currently seeking a talented, motivated senior level Embedded Software Engineer. This position requires a candidate with strong software design skills in embedded microprocessor based design. Superior communication skills and the ability to analyze and document customer requirements is highly desired. The Senior Software Engineer is expected to be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, including the use of EDA tools appropriate to software engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed design and implementation of embedded software.
  • Provide technical leadership in specific design areas.
  • Prepare technical documentation including detail design specifications, flow diagrams, verification test documents and operational descriptions.

Job Requirements:

  • BSCE/BSEE with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Solid understanding of design processes

.NET Developer

Job Description:
North Pole Engineering is currently seeking a talented, motivated senior level Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Software Engineer. This position requires a candidate with strong .NET Framework and C# software design skills with emphasis on Windows device drivers, hardware interfacing and control. Having a knowledge of radio protocols, such as ANT, BLE and WiFi is a plus! The candidate should have superior communication skills and the ability to analyze design requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Learning new technologies and platforms
  • Supporting manufacturing
  • Developing Windows device drivers for embedded hardware

Job Requirements:

  • BSCE/BSEE and a minimum of 4 years' experience (or equivalent)
  • Software Languages: C, C++, C# and .NET Framework
  • Deep understanding of USB device drivers
  • Ability to develop applications with UI
  • Windows development tools e.g. kernel mode debugger, WDK, Visual Studio SDK
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
