NPE201 (128k FLASH)

The NPE USB Pocket Programmer is the best portable programming solution for the Atmel AVR® 8-bit RISC microcontroller family. The NPE201 contains enough internal memory to program devices up through the 128K MEGA devices in the AVR family. That includes 128 Kb FLASH, 4 Kb EEPROM, all Fuse and Lock bits. The NPE201 uses the standard 6-pin or 10-pin programming header.

NPE202 (256k FLASH)

The NPE202 Pocket Programmer is the newest portable programming solution for the Atmel AVR® 8-bit RISC microcontroller family. As the memory sizes of the AVR family of microcomputers have grown, the need for pocket programmers to be able to program the entire memory – FLASH, EEPROM, Fuse and lock bits, has also grown. The NPE202 includes the the standard 6-pin or 10-pin programming header. It supports the full 256k FLASH and 8K EEPROM memories of the largest AVR microcomputers. It attaches directly to the USB port of your PC to load the target image. The NPE202 powers directly from the target system and uses the same application as the NPE201.

PROCESS

The Pocket Programmer Image Loader Application, which runs on Microsoft Windows operating systems – XP through Win7, is used to load target images into the pocket programmer. The Imager Loader supports all versions of the Pocket Programmer with a number of advanced features.

STEP 1: Download the Image Loader product brief, under Technical Documents section, on the right for a full description. The versatile USB Pocket Programmer attaches directly to the USB port of your PC to load a target image.

STEP 2: After loading a target image, disconnect the pocket programmer and throw it into your pocket.

STEP 3: Take it to the field, lab or manufacturing floor, then connect it to the target device to program, push the button and wait for the green light – it’s that simple! When programming the USB Pocket Programmer, it is powered directly from the target system.
